FREEBIE GIFT! Here is “My Sentence Builder” Activity. This activity is intended to help students create more complex sentences. A template is used with visual cues to create a sentence as:
(The/A/An) (adjective) (noun) (verb)(adverb)(where)(when)(why).
(i.e., The white dog runs quickly in the snow at wintertime to get home..)
I found this idea in a speech therapy article several years ago, possibly “Word of Mouth.” I use this with my students with photos/stimuli that I have in my speech room. I provided pictures here for a nice start. In addition, there is a word bank for extra support!
Included in this freebie:
My Sentence Builder template (with 2 examples)
My Sentence Builder template (all blank)
12 photos to use with sentence builder.
Word bank filled (that coordinates with the photos provided).
Word bank, blank.
(Print in black and white, except photo page)
Again, I provided photos, but use your own photos as well. Note that students need not fill each blank in sentence builder. Have them build a sentence that makes sense. Work at a gradual pace. Start filling just a few blanks (the white dog runs quickly), then expand when ready. May need a word bank to begin with.
