Read the classic “Hungry Caterpillar” book to the child.
It’s up to you how to use the flip book. You can use it while reading the book or after.
The food page can be used to reference the food, while using the flipbook.
Basically, do what feels comfortable for you, in using this flipbook.
Ideas:
First, name the fruit and talk about it. Talk about singular/plural usage. How many are there? Is it healthy?
Do you like it? What color/shape/texture is it? Etc.
Select a food item. (pear) Determine how many pears. (2). Flip to the pages and say “He ate/ 2 / Pears.”
Select a food item. (ice cream cone) Determine how many ice cream cones. (1). Flip to the pages and say “He ate/ 1 / ice cream cone.”
Continue with remaining food items.
As, the student becomes familiar with this activity, use less cueing.

The INSTRUCTIONS to assemble the product is in a separate PDF file, included in the bundle. Please
refer to the 3-page flip book instructions for the BOOK RING style .
NOTE: There are blank (“Trash”) pages to discard, which seems wasteful, but this is to keep the pages
aligned, if you decide to use the comb binding method.
