“WHO Question Interactive Booklet with full sentence visual answers” which is part of my series of
Question Interactive Booklets. The original version of this booklet, has a one word answer. This booklet has a complete sentenceanswer. The answer has text with picture symbols (©Boardmaker and ©Smarty Symbols) for students that are visual learnersor beginner readers. Other booklets in this series are: Where, What, When, Why.

Included in this interactive booklet are 12 “Who” Questions, each on a separate page. On the RIGHT side will be the
visual choice answers.
Questions (and answers; Underlined word is the word that they move to the fill-in sentence.)
Who drives a garbage truck and picks up the trash in our neighborhood? (A trash collector picks up our trash..)
Who works at a police station and helps enforce the law? (A police officer works at a police station.)
Who works at a restaurant and cooks the food? (A chef cooks the food.)
Who has a job to put out fires? (A fire fighter puts out fires.)
Who works at a school and helps students to learn? (A teacher helps students learn.)
Who helps students cross the street safely? (A cross guard helps students cross the street.)
Who is in the army and fights for our country? (A soldier fights for our country.)
Who works on a farm and plants crops? (A farmer works on a farm.)
Who works at a hospital and helps people that are sick? (A doctor works at a hospital.)
Who works at a hair salon and cuts hair? (A hair dresser cuts hair.)
Who delivers mail in the neighborhood? (A mail carrier delivers the mail.)

You will need:
cardstock white paper (8), laminate, Velcro (scratchy and fuzzy sides), 2 book rings
Preparation:
Print the activity pages on the cardstock paper.
Laminate the pages.
Cut each of the pages on the middle dotted line, except for the back page.
Cut the 12 visual squares and place scratchy side Velcro on back of each.
Put a small piece of Velcro (fuzzy side) on the each of the choice squares of back page.
Put a small piece of Velcro (fuzzy side) on each small square of the question pages.
Collate the booklet pages (back page first, then the 12 question pages, then booklet cover).
Line pages on left side.
Attach 12 visual squares on back page template via Velcro.
Two hole punch the left side or the top of page (your preference) and attach book rings.
This product is easy to use with your students. It is a great place to start with your WH-question goals.
Students are often pleased to use this activity, because of the visuals.
It gives them the support they appreciate.

First, explain to the child what the book is about. The book is to help answer WHO questions.
Show the child the visual for WHO.

Then, explain each page will have a question and the answer choices are on the RIGHT side.
Show him/her the choices.
Go over each choice, one by one, so he/she will know what the choices are.
(After a couple times using this booklet, you may not need to go through the above steps).

Finally, go through the booklet with the child.

Ask the question, while pointing to the picture on the page. Repeat if necessary.
Point to choices and ask the child to pick one. You may need to model this at first.
As the child, chooses the answer. If the child does not say the answer aloud, model it or prompt him/her.
Place answer on page square.
After saying what is on the answer square, repeat it using a full sentence to encourage correct grammar.
Point to each word as you help child read the sentence. Show how the symbol represents each word.
Go through the remaining pages this way.
