Four activities targeting vocabulary development. 1. Match the word to the definition 2. Put the word into a sentence. 3. Define the word 4, Read the paragraph and answer the questions. Activities are presented in a fun and interactive way. Answers are provided. Can be used one to one or in a small group.
The activities are based on the principle that to truly 'know' a word you need to be able to put it into a sentence, define it and then answer questions related to it after hearing a spoken narrative or reading a passage.
The questions relating to the paragraph move from literal to inferential. It is important that the student and therapist/teacher take turns during all the activities or that a group of students take turns because if just one student is doing all the work it means that we are testing not teaching.
