This screener is designed for students ages 3-6 years old. This screener was designed to be used by an Speech Language Pathologist
It provides a general screening of language skills in the following areas: general information, colors, prepositions, body parts/clothing, senses, categories, functional vocabulary, morphology, and sentence structure. It also provides a quick articulation screening. There is a suggested passing criteria set for each (language and articulation) based on developmental norms. The screening results are at the discretion of the Speech Language Pathologist.
Materials Needed: Record form and stimulus book (included in this download), blocks, and an empty box/container.
None-print as you need them. Color and black & white
You can also use them as a NO-PRINT by downloading a PDF annotating app on your iPad/tablet (simply email/airdrop the protocol file to your device)
- Print in color, laminate, and bind. You can print front/back (card stock is recommended).
- NO PRINT: Send the protocol file to your tablet via email or airdrop. Open on a PDF viewer and swipe to navigate pages. If you are using an iPad, I recommend using the iBooks app.
- Computer: Open the file and click the full screen option on your machine.
Instructions: Print a record form for each student that you are screening. Some of the items on the screener require a page in the stimulus book (the required pages are listed by the item on the record form). Circle +/- for each item. Follow the prompts listed by each item on the record form. Count the total number of items passed and divide by the total number of items to get a % of items correct. This is meant to give a general guideline based on developmental norms. This is not a diagnostic tool. Please use professional judgement when interpreting the results.
Don't forget to leave feedback for TPT credits!!
