"Three Ways To Say It!" Many students do not realize the vocal variety needed to begin a speaking assignment like Storytelling or Oral Interpretation. I created this powerpoint to get students standing in front of their peers, practicing saying the phrases on the screen using varied pitch, rate, volume, accents, emotion, etc.... The kids LOVE it! I use it only one class period, but they often beg for more.
You can use this two ways. You can require one student to read one phrase, hence three students involved in one slide. By the end of the activity, one student is saying the same phrase three different ways.
Often our students don't realize they really CAN speak with a Southern accent or sound like an angry parent until they are forced to try!
