Need to get your students talking? Speed Friending is a great way to do it without all the pressure! This is a take on the idea of speed dating, where you have a limited amount of time to "interview" multiple people. Students are timed and must switch partners at the end of each round.
This Speed Friending activity focuses on 5 novice/intermediate questions (Where is your house? What are you like? What time is it? How are you? Who is your favorite teacher?). Although these are simple questions, they were specifically chosen to get students thinking about the different uses of ser and estar.
Provided in this product is a worksheet that keeps students focused. I have found that Speed Friending without a little structure can get hectic! Having a worksheet students must fill in gives them a concrete goal, helps maintain focus, and provides you with accountability/assessment. Questions and sample answers are included on the worksheet to aid students. There is also a brief follow up section on the worksheet that prompts students to decide why either ser or estar was used in each of the questions.
Also included is a teacher guide that gives you detailed instructions on how to use Speed Friending as well as optional follow up activities.
This is great for Spanish students at whatever level you teach ser/estar. It's also a great review for students at any level! I find you can never review ser/estar enough!
