Use a ripple tank and a wave generator to measure the speed of a ripple in a ripple tank. Students will be able to set three or more different values of frequency on the wave generator, and them take a picture of the waves produced using a digital camera.
with the picture the students can measure the wavelength of the waves, and plot a graph of frequency versus inverse of wavelength. The slope of the line represents the speed of the wave. will the speed of the wave be affected by changes in the frequency, and wavelength?
