This set is beautifully versatile. Its is only as limited as your imagination. It can take you all the way from letter recognition to spelling words with consonant and vowel blends and diagraphs.

Preparation for use: copy all pages except the cover, instruction, credit and student recording pages onto white card stock, laminate and cut out. Yes this is a lot of work however it will be so worth it in the long run as it will last several years. This makes a great parent volunteer opportunity.
Ideas for Use: all primary and elementary grade levels
Letter recognition and discrimination - matching and sorting. These activities are also great for older students with dyslexia.
Alphabetical order - order whole alphabet, determine the missing letter, order a small group of random letters
Phonological Awareness - build rhyming words by manipulating the first letter or blend/digraph using a starting word, remove beginning or ending sounds from a word and say the new real or nonsense word created, blending phonemes to make a word, segmenting a word into its phonemes
Phonics - find and hold up the letter that makes a given sound or give the sound for a selected letter, sounding out and building words, Spelling words according to patterns
Use them for literacy Centers, small teacher-led groups and large group.
Practice building new spelling words, sight words and vocabulary words in ALL content areas (the use of the letter tiles does not need to be limited to ELAR instruction only).
Use the letter tiles as math manipulatives (ie. if you are teaching letter Rr, students can count, add and subtract letter r tiles)
