FAO: Chief Sheriff
The following words are under investigation:
- Words ending with ge/dge
- Words with ge/gi/gy/j
- Words with ce/ci/cy
- Words beginning kn/gn
You must form crack teams of detectives and distribute case sheets among them for urgent investigation.
~ Provide each team with their official badge.
~ Hold a team briefing.
~ Provide case sheets to each team.
~ Instruct each team to report back at the end of the investigation.
During the investigation detectives may use a dictionary, a thesaurus, story books, newspapers and magazines to investigate: what each word means, how it is used and then identify similar looking and/or sounding words.
At the debrief each team can share notes and help with any unsolved cases.
Notes can be used to create a 'spelling investigation wall' with links identified between cases.
Remember this is strictly confidential.
