This dictionary was created to help students be more independent when trying to spell words. Instead of asking the teacher or using a complete dictionary, students can quickly and quietly use this dictionary that is stored in their desks.
The word lists in the dictionary come from third grade level word lists, commonly misspelled word lists, and lists of words frequently used by third graders in their writing.
The booklet is 8 1/2" by 5 1/2". It has 16 pages and takes 8 pieces of paper to make when printed back to back. The pages are in ABC order and include words lists, blank lines for additional words, and spelling rules and tips.
This is a PDF file and to print it as a booklet I opened the file and selected print. Once the print window was open, I selected "properties," Then under "duplex" I selected "open to top." I believe this would also be the "flip on long side" option that I have seen before. Once the duplex option was set, I selected "ok" which brought me back to my print window and I selected "ok" to print.
NOTE: Even in just my school these directions don't work for all printers/copiers. Another suggestion is to print the document out single sided, leave them all face up, rotate every other page 180 degrees, then copy them as a one-sided to two-sided document on a copy machine. I would be more than happy to give other suggestions if you are having trouble...I think there are too many different ways to go about printing with all the different types of computers/printers/copiers. Do email me at email@example.com if I can help.
When you purchase this product, you are welcome to make copies for your whole class. If you have colleagues that are interested in this, I would appreciate it if they purchased their own copy.
