PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Spelling - Grade Two Spelling Word List, Spelling Test Templates (Pre-Test, Test, & Post-Test), Weekly Spelling Word Lists (Blank Chart)

Target Group:
1) Grade One (Advanced)
2) Grade Two

Product Description:
My goal as a teacher has always been to create educational resources that inspire students to get excited about learning.

Learning to spell enhances students reading and writing. Spelling can be easy for some students and extremely difficult for other students.

This product includes the following three items:
1)Grade Two Spelling Word List
2)Weekly Spelling Word Lists (Blank Chart)
3)Spelling Test Templates (Pre-Test, Test, & Post-Test)

Contents:
1) Grade Two Spelling Word List (1 Page):

The Grade Two Spelling Word List is a master list of spelling words that can be taught to Grade Two students both at school and at home. The spelling words range from easy words (any, old, way) to more difficult words (know, found, something). Choose words from the spelling list that match the spelling abilities of the students in your class.

The words in the Spelling Word List are specific words that students should be able to master at the Grade Two level. These are not the only words that should be taught to Grade Two students; however, these are the most prominent words that Grade Two’s should be proficient at spelling. Teachers can add additional words to the list that match the content being taught to their students as I have provided blank word list charts to help facilitate this.

2) Weekly Spelling Word Lists - Blank Chart (4 Pages):

The Weekly Spelling List Chart is a blank chart that teachers can use to create their own spelling word lists for their students. Teachers can select up to a maximum of 14 words for each week. The students may only be able to spell a maximum of three words a week. Other students may be able to spell 4 or 5 words a week. Assess your students spelling abilities and plan your spelling program according to your student’s level of abilities in spelling.

3) Spelling Test Templates (Pre-Test, Test, & Post-Test):

The Spelling Test Templates were created for teachers that need a variety of different spelling test templates to accommodate the range of spelling abilities in a classroom.

Learning to spell words can be a lot of fun for students. The following is a list of spelling activities you could incorporate into your weekly spelling program:

a) Print each spelling word onto a separate sheet of paper and laminate the paper. Students can roll play dough into long strips and use the play dough to form the words. The play dough can be placed on top of the spelling words.
b) Use Alphabet Cookie Cutters and play dough to cut out the letters of the alphabet that form the spelling words.
c) Use Alphabet Stamps and ink to spell the weekly spelling words.
d) Use washable felts to practice spelling the words.
e) Use finger painting or paint brushes to practice painting the weekly spelling words.
f) Use Pudding Finger Painting to practice spelling the words. Note: Check if any of your students have food allergies.

Skills: Spelling and Phonics.
