Look, Cover, Spell, Check is a spelling study strategy that is recommended by many experts in the language arts field. This strategy involves students looking closely at a word, then covering the word, spelling the word and then checking themselves. I like this strategy because it gives students a way to study independently without someone "quizzing" them. I created this study board so that students can use their small spelling word cards with it. Students move their card down the flow chart as they follow each step of the process. Check out my blog post about this at Thirdgradethinkers8 for more details and photos of my students using this.
