I came up with the idea for these spelling “notebooks” for my struggling readers and writers to use. I wanted them to have a place to collect all of their words. Each booklet is easy to assemble; just print, cut in half, and staple. There are blank pages for you to add any other skills to them, and they are made up of a simple design, because we know our students don’t need any more distractions! I am planning to use these with my students this year as a way to make connections between their reading and writing. We will fill out each one as we learn the skill, and keep them in a folder. Students will be able to add words to their lists as they use them in their reading and writing. They can use the rule page and sample word lists as a reference when they are writing words.
You get a booklet for each of the following skills:
A Spelling Notebook that can be personalized to your reading program
A Sight Word Notebook that can be used with any sight words.
Each booklet includes a title page, a page with the rule stated on it, and a page for each skill. Each skill page has room for students to write sample words that follow the skill. Booklet lengths depend on how many skills. The blend booklets are quite large because there are a lot of blends, the vowel diphthong is very short because there are only a few vowel diphthongs. There are blank skill pages at the end for you to add to.
Please ask any questions before purchasing! I hope you and your students love this product!
