Important To Note This resource is a double edition so it can fit any teacher. I know there are teachers out there that teach Long U with 2 sounds and those who teach Long U and Long OO separately. This resource works no matter what why you teach it.

Long U and Long OO Spellings are important part of our very tricky language. Vowel posters are helpful to students, but Cracking the Spelling Code takes vowel posters and spelling charts a step further so students not only know the different ways to spell Long U and Long OO but how to differentiate between the different spellings.

I developed Cracking the Spelling Code because I was frustrated when teaching long vowels spellings. I would teach them but then not be sure on what to tell students when they asked "Well when do I use u or U_e? Or why does Long U have 2 sounds?" Cracking the Spelling Code answers those questions with tricks, examples, posters that, spelling charts and even songs and sayings.

I love that you incorporated a song to help with the do, dew, and due. I really think that my students would understand this because of the lyrics. Also love the fact that you took the time to develop alternatives depending on what you use to explain vce words: magic e, bossy e, etc just shows how excellent this product is- Kristyn
