The purpose of this book is to learn 10 spelling rules through practice and learning simple sentences. Through daily or weekly use of these spelling rules practice sheets, a person learns to internalize the rules and apply them to daily work. These practice sheets can be used for anyone learning the 10 spelling rules. Since some of the rules contain multi-syllable words, these practice sheets may be done orally for the younger students.
The spelling rules are taught using these sentences/phrases:
-Kick the can. (/k/ sound at beginning)
-Sick Jack drank milk. (/k/ at the end)
-Pitch the branch onto the beach. (/ch/ at the end)
-The huge judge sat in the cage. (/j/ at the end)
-Predict a fact. (/kt/ at the end)
-Mimic Rick. (/ik/ at the end)
-The cactus in the pocket was taken. (/k/ in the middle)
-Mommy and daddy are happy. (twin consonants after short vowel)
-Fancy Nancy love Clancy. ( -cy endings)
