Spelling Rules: -k or -ck at the end of a word?
These no-prep spelling worksheets teach students when to use -k and when to use -ck at the end of a word. This product can be used as a guide for your spelling lessons, as word work, or as the perfect addition to your literacy centers.
This product is also available in the Spelling Rules BUNDLE
Students start by investigating words that end with -k and -ck and are given the opportunity to try and figure out the spelling rule on their own. The spelling rule is then introduced and students practice identifying words that follow the rule, as well as adding the correct endings to words and writing sentences of their own.
English spelling actually makes a lot more sense than most people realize. Teaching your students to recognize common spelling rules and patterns will significantly increase their reading, writing and spelling abilities. Learning spelling rules has also been shown to be very beneficial for students with dyslexia and other reading disorders.
An answer key is included.
