This pack contains 9 lessons for the letter name feature of Developmental Spelling. Each lesson contains a page of student cards for them to cut out and practice sorting. Have students store the cards in envelopes or baggies. Each lesson contains large teacher cards - 1 word per card, for introducing the words for the week.Cards fit in a pocket chart. Each week's lesson contains 3 or 4 sounds that students are comparing and there is a picture that illustrates the sound along with a different guide word other than the picture. The picture may not be a CVC word but it is an easily recognizable picture with the correct sound. I made sure to choose sounds for the sorts that are not similar to avoid confusion. I have included a direction page for how to use the cards as well as a direction page for using developmental spelling with recommended resources. These 9 weeks of spelling sorts are ready to print and use! This pack also includes 3 practice worksheets! One for illustrating the words, one for writing words in a triangle format (adding 1 letter for each step of the triangle) and 1 word hunt recording sheet. I included a word hunt sheet already filled out as an example. I used large bold print for clarity in reading and viewing the teacher cards from a distance. Most ready made sorts in teacher store books do not include the teacher cards. I made the student cards in grayscale but the teacher cards have a color border. If you print in grayscale they look great too. My goal is to save you time and the added pictures are not something usually found in Letter Name sorts. I thought it would help students who need that extra clue for differentiation. Please leave feedback so I can make improvements if needed and rate and follow me!!
