Spelling Throughout the Year: Phonics, word families, and sight words {Grade 1}

Looking for a Spelling continuum that makes sense for your 1st graders??
This pack follows a phonics continuum that progresses and builds off previous skills throughout the year! It also uses word families, which allow students to learn how to apply the skills they learn!
Students get five phonics words to study, but are tested on 10, which demonstrates if they know the phonics skills.
Also assessed are sight words. Many students can recognize them, but have a difficult time spelling them.

Here's what is included:
-Student homework lists, where the sight words build upon each other throughout the year
-Teacher homework lists, with the possible extra tested words
-Student homework paper for each list (this is just a suggested homework sheet, you can use what you like!) The homework is the same for lists 1-18, changes for 19-27, and 28-36. Also included for the homework is a Spelling Tic Tac Toe you can use!
-Student Test sheets for each list
-Word Wall cards in configuration for both the spelling and sight words

This is a zip file. When you download it there are FOUR files packs. Two files are the same phonics and word family words, but one pack is the Fry Sight Words and one pack is the Dolch Sight Words. The third file is the EDITABLE blank page for you to better differentiate. The fourth file is a generic word list.

**updated 7/14/13 to include a blank EDITABLE page for you to use the words you need to better differentiate for your class!

**updated 8/23/14 to include GENERIC pages; homework and test pages without list numbers to print for the whole year. There is also a test paper with only 10 lines included in this file.
