Product Description
This product can be used as a spelling word and/or word work list practice sheet. It can accommodate any word list that you have in your classroom. The product page consists of four columns: See it! Say it! Write it! Check it! The “See it!” Column is where the initial word list is to be written. As a teacher, you can write the words for the students, and then copy off the page, or have the students write their word list themselves. For the product to be optimally successful, it requires emphatic teacher modeling the first time through... Here is what the script should look like:

Teacher (Loudly): See it!
Students: Point & look closely at word, head down
Teacher (Loudly): Say it!
Students: Read the word crisply while pointing, then make a check mark in the Say it! box to indicate they have read the word.
Teacher (Loudly): Write it!
Students: Write the word quickly in the write it column while covering the word in the see it! column so it remains a secret, then put their pencils down and wait quietly.
Teacher (Loudly): check it!
Students: uncover the word in the see it! column then spell and say the word in the see it! column and then spell and say the word in the Write it! column. Finally, put a check mark in the check it! column.

For the product to be effective, the whole process should be somewhat like a game or drill, with the teacher and students doing the actions very “soldier–like”. In my classroom, the students LOVE the activity and even ask for it like a game! Success!
