I created this note and parent reply sheet to use with my “Spelling for the Year – Advanced Speller Packet” and wanted to share an editable version with you!
First, you will want to download the following fonts if you don’t have them already:
Mtf Jumpin’ Jack EXT
KG Red Hands
KG Lego House
KG Miss Kindergarten
Here is my explanation of my challenge spelling packet and how it might be used in your classroom:
“I made this packet to use with my advanced spellers this year. I call these my “Challenge lists” and students who had a 95% spelling average the previous quarter are allowed to opt in or out of this list weekly.
Before sending this list home, the student’s guardian must sign off on the challenge list, acknowledging that extra spelling practice is needed at home with these lists. I also explain that students will still receive the week’s “regular list” and if they are not ready to take the challenge list on Friday they can always choose the regular list instead.
The lists that my packet goes with is REAGAN TUNSTALL’S “SPELLING FOR THE YEAR” packet. This is the set that we use in our second grade classrooms in my school. I love this packet and feel that my packet works well to supplement any higher level spellers.”
I hope that you find these to be of use to you.
