This file guides the teacher through explaining the spelling and meaning for some of the homophones that most children find tricky. At each stage, there is part of a story with a fill in the blanks section so that children can spell and apply the correct homphone.
Spellings included are:
~to, two and too
~ where, we're and were (not strictly a homophone I know but one that my class often muddle up!)
~you, ewe and yew
~ there, their and they're
The activity story follows Princesses Jasmine and Esmerelda. Esmerelda is a typical girly-girl whilst Jasmine wants nothing more than to be a ninja! Both girls and boys should enjoy elements of the story and it's a great way for children to practice using the correct homophone.
Finally, there is a task as the end for the children to make up their own story using some more common homophones.
