Spelling For all styles
A wonderful resource to use in centre activities and can be used with any words.
Each page is self-explanatory. For best results increase to A3 paper.
I like this activity because it caters for all learning styles (Auditory / kinesthetic / visual)
In the first column of each page children write down 5 of their spelling words.
The second and third column call for the creative!
A few necessary explanations follow on the next page.
This resource is particularly useful for those of us who use the “words their way” program of word sorts.A few explanations…
Sound Boxes – Different to syllables, children are required to say the word out loud and write the sounds into the boxes that they hear for example b…ea…ch. Note that if this was the syllable activity there would only be one syllable.
Decorate it – Decorate the word in any way the child would like.
Rainbow it – Decorate the word in all of their colours.
Cut it – Find the individual letters in magazine and glue them in. (this is best on an A3 page)
Stamp it – Use small alphabet stamps to spell each word.
Two of each sheet is provided…1 with an example, one without.
