These graphic organizers (based on the Frayer Model) can help your student with their spelling and/or root words. For each word, your students will write the word itself, the definition, a sketch, examples (for root words), the word broken into syllables (for spelling words), and finally, a sentence that uses the word. They can then use these graphic organizers as study aides for the quiz or test.
This can also be used for important domain-specific words or phrases such as vocabulary for science or social studies. There is a separate sheet for these words and for one of the quadrants, the students can write about that word's connection to their life to make it relevant for the student.
Complete these whole group or use it as homework! Print them double-sided and your students can make a booklet for the words of the week!
