This activity challenges students to identify and explain the sphere (atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere) interactions that resulted from Hurricane Katrina.
This would be great for students to complete independently, with partners, or small groups. After reading the description of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, students are asked to identify and explain the different spheres that interacted as a result of this event.
I used this to assess students' understanding of how Earth's spheres interact as a result of an event.
