Product Description
Have some ACTIVE GROUP GAME FUN during Halloween-- or ANY TIME!

Here are a few lines from the Poem . . . and there are eight more 'movement verses', one for each 'leg'!

With a wiggle up
And a wiggle down
We’re doing the Spider Dance!
With legs to the left
And legs to the right
We’re doing the Spider Dance!

Do the “SPIDER DANCE” with your kids, and work on great brain development skills—sequential movements, alternating movements, and following strong rhythm patterns.

Spiders have eight legs, so there are lots of ‘leg moves’ to do!

This Activity Packet includes:

~ THE SPIDER DANCE! This is a very funny Group Poem where each of the eight legs of a spider has its own ‘moves’!

~ DIRECTIONS FOR GAME PLAY with the Spider Dance. You will need a few small balls of yarn for this group activity—half as many as you have kids in your class. For example, if you have 18 kids in your class, you would need 9 small balls of yarn. You will also need a space large enough for your class to gather in a circle for this part of the game.

~ Templates for making a SPIDER CRAFT. Each kid can attach one Spider to a square of tagboard or construction paper, and then attach to a craft stick. Kids love to have something to “hold” during game play—it bonds them to the game! The Spiders are fun to decorate with colorful hole-punch ‘dots’ for good practice in small-motor skills.

I use this game with my Pre-K - 1st classes, my ESL/ELL kids, and my Speech and Special Education groups. Any kids who benefit from Repetitive Language, a strong Rhythm Pattern, and Multi-Sensory learning will have fun with this game!
