Spider Number Comparison Game
Greater Than, Less Than, Equal To

This is a fun Halloween game to teach comparing numbers. It can also be used for number identification. The numeral cards 0 – 20 are included.

Each child will need a spider web game board. You will need spider plastic rings. I got rings and a cute spider web bowl to put them in at the Dollar Tree. You could use unifix cubes or stackers if you don’t have rings. You will need 3 – 4 copies of each number. Use the 0 – 10 cards, the 11 – 20 cards, or 0 – 20.

Play this game with a group of 4 – 6 children. Pair up the children. I like to play with pairs of 2 but 3 in a group will work. Each child will pick a number card. The pair of children will compare their cards. The child with the greater number places a spider ring on their spider web. If both children pull the same number, they pull again. If a child pulls a spider web, Stuck, they take a spider off their web and pull another card to compare with. The child that has the most spiders in their web after all cards are pulled is the winner.

You can also play with the child that pulls the number that is fewer putting the spider in their web.

You can use this game for number identification. The children take turns pulling a card and identifying the number. They place a spider on the web if they identify it.
