Suggestions for implementing:

“All About Spiders” Fact Book:
First Grade - complete a few pages of “All About Spiders” together and finish in learning centers or with partners.
Second and Third Grade - “All About Spiders” is a great review of basic spider information to begin study of spiders. It can be completed independently. Flexible enough to use along with other research sources to create a more indepth project.

Poster Project:
Children complete Spider Fact “Sloppy Copy” sheet - write 3 interesting facts using complete sentences about spiders from this unit study.
Spider outline with lines for writing final copy from “Sloppy Copy” sheet. One fact on each spider. Three spiders for poster/easel paper.
Using sunset photos as models, children use poster/easel paper and
watercolors to create an evening sky for spiders to fly in.

Extension idea:

Oral Presentation - gives young learners experience in sharing information they have gathered. Presentation rubric included as a bonus gift.
