Spin A Buddy: Spinners for Classroom Partner Practice:
This is a quick way to set up partners for any kind of practice. You can arrange high ability with lower ability or keep behaviors from choosing each other by placing them on the same wheel!
How to Use:
Print the background buddy page you want. Next, choose the wheel page for your class size. Decide how you want to organize your students. Then put them into two groups. Write the names of one group on the outside shape and the other group on the inside shape making sure you can see the names on the outer wheel when the smaller on is on top. Cut out both spinners / wheels. Glue or place the larger wheel in the blank circle of your buddy. Then place or use removable tape to place the inside spinner in the center of your buddy. Rotate to match up the students you want to work together.
Teacher Tip: I make two to use for my class. I make one with all my students and one without my GATE students. That way when my GATE students are gone, I can quickly set up partners. If someone is absent, I make a group of three. I display this using a document camera so it is easy for everyone to see.
