(You will need to provide tokens for covering spaces on the Spin & Match mats.)
These materials were designed for practice of words of increasing complexity.
Select the spinner and matching game cards for the level of complexity you will address.
For individual therapy you will need to select a card for the student and a card for yourself.
Begin by placing a token on the FREE space on each game card.
Take turns spinning. Name the item in the space on which the spinner stops. Cover the matching item/space on your game card.
If the spinner stops on a picture the player has already named, they should name the picture again, and play moves to the next person.
If the spinner stops on FREE, the player may choose to cover any space on his/her game card.
The goal of the game is to be the first to either cover all the items on your card or complete a row or column as in tic-tac-toe.
Adapt to the student’s level by having them produce a word, phrase, or sentence.
These were designed so that you can have students within the same group working on different levels of complexity. Just choose the game cards and spinners to address individual needs.
