PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This file includes one station for addition and subtraction. It is aligned to the common core standards for NYS and are used in relation to the fourth grade module 1. The standard it relates to is 4.NBT.4. This could also be used for enrichment in third grade or for review in fifth grade.

The spinners include numbers up to the millions place.

I cut out each spinner and attach them to cardstock (two on a page), but you could just leave them on the white background that is behind them right now. I do not attach anything special to make these spinners. I tell students to put a paperclip in the center and put their pencil point down in the center of the spinner. Then they can flick the paperclip and it will spin around the pencil point. Students do this for both spinners on the page. Then they either add or subtract the numbers, depending on which you want them to do. Obviously there is no self-check for this center, but you could have students turn in their work.

My students love this center and always ask for this to be part of centers.
