This is a simple game that students can play alone or with a partner to create a landscape drawing. Students will learn to work with a horizon line and add depth to their landscape drawing by overlapping different objects that they land on. The results will be different each time they play the game. Laminating the print outs allows you to reuse this activity again and again.
Have students start out with a horizon line. This can be made by foldin their drawing paper in half. Students will need in addition to the worksheet a paper clip, pencil, and crayons. Students will take turns holding the point of their pencil inside the paper clip on the center of the circle. The flick the paper clip to make it spin and then whatever they land on they will draw on their paper. Students should draw lightly till they complete their drawing. Students should spin at least 5 times. When finished drawing they can add color.
