Students will need n informational text. It can be a trade book, printable book (like something from Reading A-Z) or a classroom magazine (something like Scholastic’s Storyworks or Storyworks JR) You can choose which text feature or features you want the students to focus on. They will have to spin the spinner and answer the question about the text feature on the recoding sheet. Some questions are general about why the text feature is important and other questions they must use the text feature to answer. This gives great understanding of the text feature and if they can use the text feature. Spinners are in both color and black and white.
