This is a small collection of four centers geared at second grade. The first center is missing addends. Students spin the spinner, and then complete the problem on the card with the number they spun. The second center is vowel sounds. Students spin a vowel and then add that vowel to consonants on a card they drew to make a word. If the vowel makes a real word the player wins, if the vowel makes a nonsense word they put it back in the pile. These two centers are designed to be used at the beginning of the school year. The next two centers are designed to be used later in the year. The third center students must spin a suffix to add to a word, either, s or es, ed or ing. The student must then spell the word with the suffix correctly. If they spell it correctly they win if not the card goes back in the pile. The last center is subtraction. Students must be able to count backwards to subtract. The center uses double digit numbers 10-39 as the minuends, and the number they spin (1-5) are the subtrahends. Students will have a great time learning with these centers! Try them out in your class today!! Also thank you to Krista Wallden for the great clip art!
