This activity can be used to:
-Elicit language when evaluating a student or collecting a language sample
-Target articulation sounds in conversational speech
-Work on various syntax goals such as subject/verb agreement and verb tenses
-Improve descriptive language and increase MLU
This activity can be printed for tabletop use (just place a pencil tip through a paperclip and place the pencil tip on the center of the circle to create a spinner) or within a teletherapy platform with a built-in spinner.
Have the child spin once for each of the 4 circles to determine a character(s) in the story, where the story takes place, when the story occurs, and one thing that happens during the story. Encourage the student to be creative and not to worry if the story is silly.
Dice are included if you’d rather have the student roll 4 dice to determine the content of the story he/she should create.
Check out a similar activity with a summer-theme to play at the beginning of the school year for rapport building and telling about summer plans!
