First Grade Language Arts and Math Standards are covered in this booklet. The concept of Spiral Learning is used. Spiral Learning is awesome for all students. It offers differentiation to all learners. It gives students the opportunity to preview new material, practice the content, and to review an idea. If a student doesn't fully understand the idea the first time around there will be another opportunity for the student to try out the idea again. Spiral learning recognizes that not all students are at the same learning place at the same time. A large variety of Language Arts Standards and Math Standards are presented in mini discussions. Your students might be previewing, some might be mastering, and some might be reviewing the skill. Students move through the boxes hearing mini conversations about various standards. The teacher is informally assessing and noting who understands what and who needs more help with an idea. Teachers can use this informal data to help make instructional plans to meet the needs of students.
