I am constantly taking language samples for evaluations, progress reports, or upcoming annual IEP meetings. It's a great way to show progress and generalization of language skills in spontaneous speech. I have created this quick handout that contains 50 blank spaces to fill in the student's utterances. I usually print out two copies so that I can have 100 utterances. I tend to analyze it with either the Developmental Sentence Scoring (DSS). I also always use this to obtain their Mean Length Utterance (MLU). It's a great tool! Enjoy!
