A fun, Halloween-themed spooky speech packet with two different prep options-- a black and white, no-prep craftivity option and another option that does require laminating and cutting, but gets your kiddos up and moving! This packet targets earlier sounds /p, b, m, n, w, h, t, d, k, g, f/ and s-blends.
Included in this download is a black and white haunted house that prints to one page, as well as a haunted house that prints in color on 4 separate pages, to be laminated and attached together via tape. Each page of ghosts contains initial/medial/final position words for /p, b, m, n, t, d, k, g, f/. Sounds /w, h/ are also included for the initial position. In addition, /sm, sn, sp, st, sk, sl, sw/ blends in the initial position of words are also included. Blank cards are included to be able to practice any target or to write in your own words.
Option 1: Craftivity: Print a black/white haunted house for each student and have students glue the whole page to a piece of black construction paper. Have students color their target words on the ghosts as they practice. When they are done coloring, cut the ghosts out (I have them practice their words again while I cut (instead of them) because I’m not an OT and preschoolers with scissors are frightening to me ;-)). After ghosts are cut out, students can glue them on and around the haunted house as they practice their words again. This is a great way to get lots of fun, no-prep practice in, while sending something home so parents can see what you worked on in speech therapy.
Option 2: Get your kids up and moving by laminating the color haunted house and attaching the pages together. Print, laminate, and cut out the ghosts, and attach Velcro around the haunted house and on the backs of the ghost cards. Tape the haunted house to a door or wall, and have students place a ghost on/around the haunted house as they practice their targets. Use the blank ghosts for extra practice or for different targets!
