Activities include:

Spider Sounds: Differentiate to meet your students’ needs! There are worksheets to record first sound, middle sound, ending sound, or spelling the CVC word pictured on the card.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.2.d Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words.1 (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)

Spooky Sounds & Frightful Letter Find: Differentiate this hide and seek activity to best suit your class. A student hides the ghost behind the letter/sound cards in a pocket chart. The other students ask where the ghost is hiding by naming the letter or its sound.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3.a Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound or many of the most frequent sounds for each consonant.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.1.d Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.

Haunted Trail: Students “walk the room” to find the hidden sight words and record them on the worksheet.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3.c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).

Pumpkin Patch Colors: Students can play memory or Go Fish using the colored pumpkins and color words.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.3.c Read common high-frequency words by sight (e.g., the, of, to, you, she, my, is, are, do, does).

Alphabet Gone Batty: Students will determine the missing letter in a sequence of three letters and record their answer on a worksheet.
CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RF.K.1.d Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
