This game address standards 4NF5. Students will use equivalent fractions to add fractions with unlike denominators of 10 and 100. For example, students will express 4/10 as 40/100, and add 4/10 + 4/100 = 44/100.
The game cards include a concept card with an addition expression, multiplying to find the equivalent fraction, the equivalent fraction expression, and the sum for each matching set. See the thumbnail for examples.

Express a fraction with denominator 10 as an equivalent fraction with denominator 100, and use this technique to add two fractions with respective denominators 10 and 100. For example, express 3/10 as 30/100, and add 3/10 + 4/100 = 34/100.
