This basketball unit plan is 7 pages long. This unit plan was created using the Sport Education Model (SEM) where each student takes on a different role each day (such as a player, coach, official). The unit plan includes: list of equipment needed, unit learning objectives, explanations of each role, a 20 question cognitive test, a skills test 3-2-1 rating scale for basketball (evaluating 6 criteria), 2 journal entry questions for fitness days (to be used if there is a random fitness day...since there are no provided fitness days in this unit), an exit slip example, and a five week curriculum mapping/unit plan/curriculum outline for basketball. This mapping outline takes up 1 1/2 pages of the document. I enjoyed teaching the SEM and I hope more physical education teachers include it in their class in the future.
