Welcome to “Sort Sort Freebie” This activity works great as a one on one activity.
TO MAKE: Print off pages. Use cardstock for greater durability. Cut out the file folder labels. Attach the larger label to the front of the folder and attach the smaller label to the tab. Glue pages 3 & 4 to the inside of the file folder. Laminate everything and cut out the sport cards. Attach velcro to the sports cards and the spaces provided in the folder.
TO PLAY: Lay out the file folder. Place the cards out and have children put the cards on the correct side of the file folder.
ANSWER KEY: I have used the following rule for sorting out the sports. Anything to do with snow or ice is a winter sport and anything else is a summer sport. I will often talk about how we sometimes play a “summer sport” in the winter, e.g. basketball. I will say that you can play those sports outside in the summer and that makes it a “summer sport.”
