Formal Objective: This project will serve as a comprehensive formal assessment for many types of writing, math, social studies, research, and informative speech skills.
Types of Writing Involved: persuasive, informational, functional, formal reporting, expressive, letters, and narrative.
Types of Math Involved: Adding, subtracting, division, add/subtract decimals, measurements, scale, and multiplication.
Types of History Involved: Researching sports stadiums and how they've positively affected an areas economic growth. Structure of local government, such as city councils.
Types of Reading Involved: Informational, functional, and various expository text.
Types of Art Involved: Design, sketch, graphic, culinary arts.
General Project Objective: You will be starting a professional sports franchise from scratch. Meaning, your job is to develop an expansion team that will participate in one of five leagues: Major League Baseball (MLB), the National Football League (NFL), the National Basketball Association (NBA), the National Hockey League (NHL), or International Soccer (FIFA). You will control all aspects of the franchise; including its location, finances, advertising, players, hiring of staff, maintaining a balanced budget, ordering merchandise, ordering concessions, chartering aircraft to and from games, stadium structure and construction, and other aspects.
*Project generally takes one month to complete. However, this project is easily adaptable to fit most time frames.
