Engage students with these sports and history analogies!
This analogy comes from a series of sports-history comparisons in Nick's store, comparing American sports figures to American historical figures.
This product compares the most overrated American historical figure (Columbus) to the most overrated American sports figure (Namath). (Note: Columbus is technically Italian, but was largely responsible for future North American exploration and settlement.)
Instructors will receive the following:
1. 1-2 page reading comparing the historical and sports figures. (Note: These short readings each have full citations.)
2. Five critical-thinking questions
3. Teacher's answer key
4. It is suggested that teachers hold class discussions based on students' responses to the handout's questions.
