This bundle has 10 different activities included! I am sure there is something for every one. Read the description of each activity below.
Sports Count and Clip
An easy and low prep math center is my favorite. These count and clip cards just need to be printed, laminated and cut. Place in your math area with clothespins and your children can practice counting, number identification and work on their fine motor skills. There are cards for numbers 1-20.
Sports Shop Dramatic Play
A fun addition to a dramatic play area during a sports theme. This set will have you organizing your play area and have children engaged. Included is a shop sign, labels for different items, and shopping lists. This is also a fun way to incorporate money and counting. Children will see prices of items and be able to ring them up at the register (not included).
Shootin' Hoops Rhymes
Shoot the ball into the correct net to score pints for your team! Children will choose a mat with a basketball hoop and find the basketball that rhymes and place it on the mat. There are 20 different rhymes included.
Baseball and Mitt ABC
Match the mitt and gloves together to catch the ball! Children can match capital and lowercase letters, capital and capital letters or capital letters with beginning sounds. This would be a great center for a pocket chart, or sort the mitts and balls into trays to make the center easier for children to complete.
Bowling for Syllables
Bowling for syllable will have children working on counting the sounds they hear in their words. This would be perfect for a pocket chart activity. There are 3 headers included (1 for each syllable count) and there are 12 bowling balls for each syllable count as well. The children will choose a bowling ball and place it under the header (or the amount of pins the ball can knock down based on the syllables).
Sports What Goes Together?
These mats are great for sorting out sport objects into the correct category. Children will choose a mat, identify the sport on it and find four objects that go along with it. Velcro can be placed on the back of the cards if preferred. There are 6 sports included in the mats.
Sports Prewriting Skills
This center is great for working on fine motor control. Print and laminate the cards. Children can then use a dry erase marker to trace the dotted lines. There are 15 cards included.
Sports Word Wall
These word wall cards are great for a sports theme. There are 40 different sport related words. There are 4 different types of print to choose from. There is manuscript, lined, lined with dots and lined with arrows. This is a great way to differentiate what is needed for your class. These are also great to put into a writing center as well. There are recording sheets included as well.
Who won the baseball game? Children will use their skills of comparing numbers to figure out the winner of each game. Children will place the correct symbol above the “inning” box to show either “greater than” or “less than” The symbols are included at the end of the file. There are 20 cards that compare numbers 1-12. If you aren’t ready to introduce the concept yet, children can place a manipulative on top of the score that is bigger.
Sports Cube Measuring
Cube measuring is a great way to incorporate nonstandard measuring into the classroom. Children choose a card and place unifix or snap cubes along the line. They count how many cubes there are and record it on the answer sheet. The answer sheet can be used as a worksheet or put in a dry erase sleeve to be reused.
