Behavior clip charts are a popular and effective way to monitor students behavior throughout the day. I use this sports themed chart in my classroom. The pages are mounted on colored construction paper and laminated. Then each student has a clip or clothes pin with his or her name or number. Throughout the day, a student may move his or her clip up or down.
Each student starts the day on green or the page that says “In The Game”. For good behavior, they move their clips up and for bad behavior, they move them down. As an added bonus, I have a small basketball hoop attached to the top of the chart. If a student ends the day on “Champion”, he or she gets the privilege of shooting a basket to double his or her prize.
