Spot the Match is a card game for 2-6 players consisting of 31 cards containing 6 pictures of music symbols, and one word list card.
One—and only one—matching symbol exists between any two cards. Get ready to Spot the Match.
Print covers on pp. 3 on the backs of pp. 4 - 13, and p. 14 on the back of p. 15 on card stock for durability. PRINT 100% SCALE; DO NOT SCALE TO FIT TO PAGE. Laminate and cut out each card.
Before playing the game demonstrate to the students that cards have matching symbols. Have them find some at random and name them.
~ Shuffle the cards and deal one card face-down to each student. Place the remaining cards face-up in the middle of the table to form the draw pile.
~ All students flip over their cards at the same time. They try to spot the one picture that appears both on the card in the center of the table and on their own card.
~ If a student finds matching symbols, that student names them. If the symbols are named correctly, s/he takes the center card and places it on his/her own pile face up. If there are no matching symbols, the center card is placed in the bottom of the draw pile. The play continues with students trying to match the top card in their personal pile to the new card in the center. The play continues until no cards remain in the draw pile. The student with the most cards is the winner. Spot the Match for Musical Symbols
