How to Use
→ Spider Positions, Book 1 Receptive: The students get to take Spot off of his web at the top of the book and place him around halloween themed pictures. This is great for positional vocabulary, listening, and following directions. I made a receptive visual support board to use if the students need it!
→ Spider Positions, Book 2 Expressive: The students are asked “Where is Spot” on each page. The objective is for them to expressively use the positional words. I have included visual support for the target phrase on the bottom of each page if needed. I use this book after they have mastered the receptive book. (I have found that if the students tap the boxes, it encourages them to verbalize)!
→ Spider in the Room Game Receptive Activity: Have the students hide Spot (a large version of the spider that you laminate) around the room with the included direction cards (1 step & 2 steps). You can also make up your own directions and use a toy spider if you have one!
→ Spider in the Room Expressive Activity: Hide Spot and ask the student to tell you where he is. Use the included Spider in the Room Expressive Visual Support board for students who need it.
→ Spider Positions Flash Cards: You can use these during an open-ended game or to reinforce the concepts from the book. Ask the student “Where is Spot” while looking at each card. You can also use the Visual Support Board with the cards if needed.
→Color-A-Spider: Print and have the students color their own spider!
