Help your students practice Solid Shapes (3-D shapes) with this emergent reader, spinner with graph and a sheet that can be used to record items of each shape. Shapes focused on are: sphere, cube, cone, cylinder and rectangular prism.
The emergent reader has both a plain solid shape and a real-life example (such as a basketball for a sphere). The book is repetitive to support emergent readers.
I use the final sheet as homework where students can write, draw or cut out and glue pictures of each 3-D shape.
Common Core Aligned:
K.G.A.2: Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or overall size.
K.G.A.3: Identify shapes as two-dimensional (lying in a plane, “flat”) or three-dimensional (“solid”).
