Print "Spotting Good Behavior" on card stock for each student and have them keep it in the front of a commonly used binder or handy in their desk. Award students colorful circle mini stickers when you spot them using good manners, participating in class, or displaying desirable behaviors. When they have received ten stickers, they will turn it in to you for a treat of your choosing. Stamp the dots that are being used with a special stamp and return the sheet for students to continue earning spots.
"Spotting Good Behavior" provides an external motivation tool for students to visually track and be rewarded for their participation and positive behavior in an informal way. At the same time, the teacher is only providing a "goodie" for every ten times that a student is recognized.
